Drift Atlanta, the second event of the 2011 Formula Drift Championship, will be held from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. May 6-7 at Road Atlanta in Braselton.
Entering its eighth season, Formula Drift is recognized as the North American professional drifting championship. Established on the streets of Japan, drifting has evolved into a worldwide competitive sport that challenges each driver's ability and vehicle control. Twenty thousand fans attended the event last year, making it the fastest growing event at Road Atlanta.
Practice and qualifying will be held during the afternoon and evening of May 6, with the main event slated to begin at 4 p.m. May 7. The finals will be held under the lights at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets cost $28 for both days, and $23 for Saturday only. Parking costs $5. Kids 12-and-under are admitted for free with an adult. The weekend will also include a car show, Expo area, and drift rides for fans. Fans who attend will have full access to cars and drivers all weekend in the Open Paddock.
