Mattie Brogdon, a Lumpkin County High graduate and current member of the second-ranked Texas Christian University women’s rifle team, fired a 592 to tie for first place in the air rifle competition Sunday as the Horned Frogs defeated No. 1 West Virginia 4,675 to 4,663.

The 592 is a career-high for the junior, who also placed seventh in the small bore division with a 575. Both scores were out of 600.

TCU is 2-0 in head-to-head matches this season and will visit Murray State on Saturday.
