Alvin Richardson, author of the book “Tracks of the Red Elephant,” will be signing copies of the Gainesville High football history compilation during the Gainesville vs. Flowery Branch football game on Friday at City Park Stadium.

The book takes an in-depth look at the past 100 years of the Red Elephants football team, including information about former players and coaches, statistics through the years, and team records from the past century.

The book, which was commissioned by The Times, is available for $25, and all proceeds go towards The Times’ Newspapers in Education program. This program provides newspapers for classrooms in the Gainesville City and Hall County school systems.

Copies of “Tracks of the Red Elephant” can be purchased in advance at The Times or at Friday night’s game.
