For the tenth straight year, Allen Creek Soccer Complex will host 54 teams as part of the Atlanta Cup on Sept. 3-4.
The tournament, which is the largest youth soccer tournament in the Southeast, will play a total of 91 games over two days at Allen Creek.
States represented at the tournament will be Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Allen Creek facility manager Mike Little said that the tournament has always been a great opportunity to showcase the complex.
“With it being the largest tournament of its kind in the Southeast, there are so many out-of-state teams present,” he said. “We love to showcase our facilities.”
Five different groups of teams will compete in the tournament. There will be three different age groups — U17 and U12 girls, and U10 boys. The U17 girls and U10 boys will be separated into two groups, the Cup and A divisions. Only the Cup division will compete for the U12 girls.
Little said that with this level of competition, it has always been an easy decision to compete at Allen Creek.
“This venue is the finest in Georgia and one of the finest in the Southeast,” he said. “Holding it at Allen Creek is kind of a no-brainer.”
