Charlie Patterson will take over as the coach of Piedmont College men's and women's cross country teams, the school announced Monday.
Patterson brings six years of coaching experience and more 42 years of running experience to Piedmont.
"We are delighted to add such an experienced running coach to our staff," athletic director John Dzik said. "Charlie's lifetime commitment to the sport of running should be an inspiration to the student-athletes he will coach."
Patterson served last season as an assistant coach at Brenau University. Prior to that, Patterson was the community distance coach at Flowery Branch High.
