North Georgia women fall to No. 5 Clayton State

The North Georgia women's basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season on Tuesday, falling 72-44 to No. 5 Clayton State.

The Lakers (13-1, 3-0 Peach Belt Conference) started the game on a 10-2 run, holding the Lady Saints (6-4, 1-1) scoreless on their first four possessions.

Gainesville graduate Jaymee Carnes scored 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Lady Saints, registering her ninth double-double in 10 games and her third straight.

Carnes scored North Georgia's first 12 points of the second half and was the only Lady Saint to score in double figures.

The Lady Saints return to action 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Augusta State.
