Coach Mike Davenport and the staff of the North Georgia College & State University softball team were named the best in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region for 2010 at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s annual convention last weekend in San Diego, Calif.

Davenport and assistants Brad Davis and Kaelin Farrington were named the NFCA Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year for the second straight year after making back-to-back trips to the College World Series.

The Lady Saints captured the nation’s attention in 2010 as the squad put together one of the most remarkable runs in NCAA history, winning 51 straight games, the second most in NCAA softball history.
