Hannah Boudreaux placed 14th in the 400-meter freestyle relay, and Julia Ferreira placed in the top 20 in the 200-meter breaststroke, as the Brenau University swim team ended its season at the NAIA National Championship on Tuesday in Saint Louis.
The Golden Tigers were able to achieve six personal bests, four relay bests and set three school records. Boudreaux placed fifth overall at the meet, while setting a personal best in the 200-meter fly.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to end our trip at nationals,” Brenau coach Blaire Bachman said. “I am so proud of this team.”

NORTH GEORGIA SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER: The No. 2 Lady Saints (21-3) lost the first game with Tusculum College, 2-1, but rallied to take Game 2, 4-1, on Friday at Haines Carolyn Hill Stadium in Dahlonega. Jessica Coan (8-2) took the complete-game loss in Game 1, giving up four hits and one earned run while striking out 16 in eight innings. The loss snapped North Georgia’s 40-game home winning streak. Sarah Phillips (9-1) earned the win in Game 2, also giving up four hits and one run, while striking out six and surrendering no walks. The Lady Saints will face No. 3 Valdosta State at 2 p.m. and No. 4 Alabama-Huntsville at 6 p.m. today in Dahlonega.
