Freshman Tala Black scored a team-high 13 points on 3-of-6 shooting from behind the 3-point line, but it wasn’t enough as the Brenau University basketball team lost to Southern Wesleyan 69-57 on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Sophomore Nikki Reed added 10 points for Brenau (10-9, 2-6 Southern States Athletic Conference).

Sophomore captain Gabby Harvey had a big game for Brenau, leading the way with nine rebounds, passing out a season-high eight assists and coming up with three steals. Freshman Brittney Wiley was solid, scoring nine points, with four assists and six steals.

Brenau will travel to Brewton Parker on Thursday.

TENNESSEE WESLEYAN MEN 82, YOUNG HARRIS 67: The Mountain Lions (4-14) fell behind by double digits early and could never recover Monday at the James L. Robb Gymnasium.

Frank Adams had a career-high 29 points while pulling down seven rebounds for Young Harris. Bryson Robertson added 15 points and Steve Viterbo scored 11 points with eight rebounds as the Mountain Lions shot 37 percent from the floor.

Young Harris hosts Brewton-Parker at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
