Gainesville High graduate Jaymee Carnes scored a game-high 39 points and had 14 rebounds for the North Georgia College & State University women's basketball team in a 73-70 victory against Newberry College on Friday.

Carnes recorded her eighth double-double in nine games and continues to lead the nation in scoring, averaging 28.3 points per game and accounting for 47 percent of the team's scoring.

The Lady Saints visit Clayton State at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Morrow.
