Brenau freshman pitcher Kathleen Daniel had a historic debut in her team’s season opener last Saturday, throwing 20 strikeouts in a 2-1 win against Piedmont. Daniel now holds the record for the most strikeouts by any freshman in NAIA history, and she’s second all-time behind Davenport (MI) University’s Emily Maves’ 21 strikeouts. The Golden Tigers picked up the sweep against Piedmont by winning the second game 3-1.
