Brenau takes first at Southern States track and field meet

The Brenau University track and field team scored 352.5 points to win the first Southern States Athletic Conference meet on Saturday at Shorter University in Rome. The Golden Tigers had 11 conference champions out of 24 events competed.

Lammy Sokunbi won the 100 meter run, 200 and triple jump for Brenau, while Deishine’ Honeycutt took first in the 400 and 400 hurdles for the Golden Tigers. Alexa Osterloh won the javelin and hammer events for Brenau, while

Megan Dixon captured first in the pole vault.  Dierdre Duncan won the shot put for Brenau, while Dana Cole took first in the discus.

Winning the 3000 steeplechase for Brenau was Alyssa Sale.

William Carey finished second (115) and Emmanuel College earned third place (92).
