Four Brenau University volleyball team members have been named to the Southern States Athletic Conference 2010 All-Academic Team.

Cartersville natives Meredith Hardin and Danelle Russell each made the team. Hardin, a senior, is on track to graduate as a political science major in May and Russell, a junior, is studying mass communications.

Also making the team is senior Kelsey Aley, of Tallahassee, Fla., who is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2012 with a degree in Biology and junior Alexis Arther, of Aiken, S.C., who is majoring in Eduction.

In addition to these honors, Aley and Arthur have also been named to the prestigious 2010 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Daktronics Scholar Athlete volleyball team.

“I am so proud of these young ladies and their ability to play volleyball at a high level while maintaining an outstanding record academically,” Brenau coach Meredith Franklin said. “We place a high premium on being a true student-athlete in our program and these women have lived that out this year.”
