Brenau University freshman Sydney Romine will participate in the 60-meter hurdles at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Indoor National Championship, starting today in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Romine, who qualified for the event with a time of 9.2 seconds, is the first member of the Golden Tigers track and field team to compete in the indoor championship. This is Brenau’s inaugural season of indoor track.
“It’s an honor,” Romine said in a university news release. “I wasn’t expecting it, but I’m excited now. I’ve been working extra hard and working specifically with hurdles. I don’t know exactly what to expect, but I’m looking forward to it.”
