College softball: Brenau stays perfect

Brenau University remained undefeated, beating Montreat 6-0 and 9-6 in a doubleheader Sunday at Montreat, N.C.

In the first game the Tigers were powered by strong pitching, led by Marisa Litster’s complete game and nine strikeouts. She also went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Brooke Borders went 2-for-4, and Tori Fobb was 1-for-3 with one RBI and one stolen base.

In the second game Brenau was led by another strong pitching performance, this time from Missy Herren, who struck out six.

Caitlin Kelly and Litster sustained the lead in relief, with Litster striking out the side in the final two innings.

Borders led the team offensively, going 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Flynt went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base, Fobb went 2-for-4 with one RBI, Katie Hulsey went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and Maggie Renfro went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.
