Brenau University softball player Cassie Lassiter was named to the NAIA Softball All-American Team as an honorable mention on Wednesday.
Lassiter, a senior, is the first All-American in Golden Tiger softball history. The Alabama native transferred from Troy University before this season and led Brenau to a 42-12 overall record and 26-6 Southern States Athletic record.
Lassiter ranked third in the Southern States Athletic Conference in wins (18) and ERA (1.28) and fourth in strikeouts (195). She also ranked eighth in the conference with a .350 batting average and fourth with four home runs.
