Due to a scheduling conflict, the Georgia Games Bench Press and Powerlifting competition will not be held at Riverside Military as previously reported, but will be held at 9:30 a.m., July 17 at the new Ironbeast Barbell Gym on Shallowford Road in Gainesville.

Gym Director Mike Kidd, who is also the head trainer and coach for the highly successful Georgia IronDawg powerlifting team said Monday that he spoke with Eric Pfeifer, executive director of the Georgia Games, and that the event was “a go.”

The gym had to hustle a bit to get ready and will use the meet as a part of its grand opening celebration which has been moved up to accommodate the Georgia Games.
