MIAMI — The Atlanta Braves have recalled infielder Brooks Conrad, catcher Clint Sammons and right-hander Luis Valdez from Triple-A Gwinnett as part of their September roster expansion.

The moves came before the Braves' game against the Florida Marlins on Tuesday, the first day major league teams could expand active rosters from 25 to 40 players.

In stints earlier this season with Atlanta, Conrad hit .344 in 14 games; Valdez had a 5.40 ERA in two games; and Sammons was 1-for-5 batting in limited play.
