MILWAUKEE — Tim Hudson kept pitching his way out of trouble and came inches shy of hitting a home run himself, helping the Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers 11-3 on Tuesday.

Troy Glaus went deep for the second straight night for the Braves, who will go for a three-game sweep of the Brewers this afternoon. Eric Hinske doubled twice and drove in three runs.

Atlanta pounded out a season-high 16 hits in yet another demoralizing Miller Park loss for the Brewers, who slipped to a major league-worst 4-10 at home. Alcides Escobar had two hits and an RBI for Milwaukee, snapping an 0-for-17 skid.

Hudson (3-1) allowed a run and six hits in six innings, tying a career high with six walks. He got out of bases-loaded situations in the second and third and nearly homered in the fifth, bouncing a ball off the top of the wall in left for a double.

Dave Bush (1-3) gave up three runs and seven hits in six innings, and the Brewers' bullpen fell apart after that.
Milwaukee was without slugger Ryan Braun, who was hit in the elbow by a pitch in Monday night's loss and is day to day.

Third baseman Chipper Jones was a late scratch from the Braves' lineup because of a sore groin.

Trailing 6-1, the Brewers pushed across two runs in the seventh, but Escobar lined out with runners on second and third to end the inning.

Jones' replacement, Brooks Conrad, homered leading off the eighth and the Braves would go on to score four runs in the inning.

Escobar's bloop RBI single in the second tied it at 1 but the Brewers failed to take advantage of chances to take the lead.
After Escobar's single, Hudson walked Bush to load the bases with two outs, but Rickie Weeks hit a weak ground ball to the shortstop for an inning-ending forceout.

Milwaukee squandered another bases-loaded chance in the third, when Hudson walked Casey McGehee intentionally with one out and Gregg Zaun hit into a double play.

Omar Infante's RBI double in the fourth gave the Braves a 2-1 lead, and Hudson led off the fifth with a deep fly ball that almost left the park.

Jim Edmonds led off the Milwaukee fifth with a single, and Prince Fielder walked. But McGehee hit into a double play and Zaun flied out to end the inning.

Glaus then started the sixth with a deep drive to left for his fourth homer of the season, giving Atlanta a 3-1 lead.

The Braves added three more runs in the seventh. Brian McCann had an RBI single and Hinske doubled in two.
