White County scored with just 27 seconds left and earned a 34-27 victory over Madison County in a penalty-ridden game Friday in Cleveland.
Madison County fumbled the ball on its own 15 with time running down. Nasser Clark and Andrew Posten recovered the fumble, and the Warriors scored on the next play.
Sam Turner led the White County offense with 100 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Max Taylor added 66 yards and a score on 12 carries.
Sean Freeman scored for the Warriors on a blocked punt by Turner, and Ky Crowe had a touchdown and 46 yards on six carries.
Jacob Payette caught a pass on fourth down to set up the game-tying scoring drive in the fourth quarter.
White County (3-2, 1-1 Region 8-AAAA) visits Stephens County on Friday in Toccoa.
