Oconee stuns Jefferson in double overtime thriller, 36-35

Oconee County senior quarterback Zeb Noland scored from 2 yards out in the second overtime and senior tight end Cooper Saunders converted the two-point conversion to upset No. 3 Jefferson 36-35 on Friday night in Watkinsville.

Jefferson sophomore running back Colby Wood scored all five touchdowns for the Dragons.

Jefferson tied the game at 21-21 with 3:14 remaining on a 3-yard Wood touchdown run. The Dragons’ first lead didn’t come until Wood scored on the first play of the second overtime.

Jefferson (8-1, 4-1) hosts Hart County 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
