Lumpkin County tops Dawson 42-19, faces West Hall for 7-AAA title

Lumpkin County set up a showdown against West Hall for the Region 7-AAA title by beating Dawson Couty 42-19 on Friday in Dahlonega.

Zach Matthews finished with 139 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 14 carries for Lumpkin County (5-4, 4-1 Region 7-AAA). Gunner Wood added 179 yards on 21 carries, and Bradley Womach had 75 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.

Womack also returned an interception 27 yards for a score.

The Indians visit West Hall for the region title game on Friday in Oakwood.
