Late TD lifts Flowery Branch over Salem, 7-6

Flowery Branch rallied for the winning touchdown with less than a minute to play to upset Salem 7-6 on Friday night and stay alive in the Region 8-AAAAA playoff hunt.

Jeremiah Goss caught the winning 10-yard pass from Nick Lance with less than 60 seconds on the clock in Conyers.

Lance found Cortez Davis on a 50-yard pass to get Flowery Branch in the red zone and set up the winning score.

The Falcons (5-4, 4-4 Region 8-AAAAA) play host to rival Gainesville on Friday in Flowery Branch, needing a win plus help from elsewhere to earn a playoff spot.

Salem fell to 5-4, 5-3 in the region.
