Habersham Central rallied from a late deficit to beat Salem 43-39 on Friday night in Mount Air.
Kevin Ellison connected with Zac Franks to score the go-ahead touchdown with 32 seconds left to play.
In a back-and-forth game, the Raiders were down 39-28 with 11 minutes to go before Ellison capped off nine-play, 98-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run. It came after Salem fumbled on Habersham’s 1-yard line to narrow it to 39-36.
The Raiders converted the 2-point try and recovered an onside kick with 3:44 to go. On the ensuing drive, Ellison found Franks for the touchdown with 32 seconds left.
Ellison finished the game with 125 yards and four touchdowns on 23 attempts. He also completed 8-of-12 passes for 146 yards and another touchdown.
Patrick Burns had a 7-yard touchdown run for Habersham Central.
Salem’s Jahad Coleman had runs of two rushing touchdowns to go with his 95-yard kickoff return.
The Raiders play again Friday at Clark-Central.
