Fannin County held off Lumpkin County in a wild finish 41-35 at The Burial Grounds on Friday night.
The Indians cut the lead to six on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Chandler Woodham to Cole White with 39 seconds left but failed to recover the ensuing onside kick .
Lumpkin County’s Zach Matthews had a rushing touchdown and a kickoff return touchdown. Austin Pierce caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Chandler Woodham (two touchdowns) and White blocked a punt that Julian Hazen returned for a touchdown.
Lumpkin County (2-5, 0-3 7-AAA) visits Banks County 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
