Garrett Smith had two touchdowns and Jesse Wright had one touchdown for Union County in a 40-24 loss to Fannin County on Friday at Rebel Stadium in Blue Ridge.

With the win, Fannin County (6-3, 5-1 Region 8A-AA) secured the subregion championship and will face Elbert County for the Region 8-AA championship at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Blue Ridge.

Eric Hougrand added a field goal for Union County (2-3, 3-6, which will play host to East Jackson at 7:30 p.m. Friday for its finals game of the season.
