Commerce loses to Charlton County, 35-21

Commerce held Charlton County scoreless in the second half but couldn’t secure a comeback, falling 35-21 to Charlton County in the first round of the Class A public state playoffs on Friday in Commerce.

Chance McClure led the Tigers with 94 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, and Jamir Walton had 84 yards on 11 carries.

Quarterback Caleb Brooks scored on a 1-yard run and an 8-yard run for Commerce.

The Tigers finished with 282 yards of offense compared to 475 for Charlton County.

Commerce finishes the season with a 7-4 record.
