Buford rolls to win over Blessed Trinity
Wolves play host to Gainesville next Friday

Buford started its defense of the Class AA state championship in fine fashion with a season-opening 42-0 shutout of Blessed Trinity on Friday in Roswell.

The Wolves (1-0) dominated the game on the ground with 18 different ball carriers gaining a total of 277 yards.

Buford senior running back Andre Johnson led the team with three carries for 57 yards. He scored on touchdown runs of 34 and 20 yards. Wolves senior Nathan Staub added three carries for 48 yards, with a long of 28.

Buford quarterback Sam Clay, a senior, scored on a 16-yard run, then thew a 24-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Moore.

Andrew Ciera also scored on a 35-yard run for Buford.

Rick LeGrant, a senior, scored a touchdown on a 21-yard fumble return for the Wolves, which play host to Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. next Friday at Tom Ride Stadium in Buford.
