Buford caps 10-0 season, routs Stephens County 56-0

Buford’s defense held Stephens County to 46 total yards and only allowed the Indians to cross midfield once as the top-ranked Wolves captured their first championship in Region 8-AAAA with a 56-0 victory on Friday in Toccoa.

Luke Humphrey led Buford in the first half, going 7 of 8 passing for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Humphrey found Brett Shepherdm Isaac Nauta and Aaron Auer in the first half for touchdowns.

Alan Frazier picked up a fumble in the first quarter and returned it 13 yards for a score, and Josh Thomas and Martin Mangram each scored on the run.

Xavier Gantt returned the second-half kickoff 91 yards for a score, and Will Graddick closed out scoring with a 6-yard run.

The Wolves (10-0, 8-0 Region 8-AAAA) will play the No. 4 seed from Region 7-AAAA next Friday in Buford.
