After an 0-10 season in 2013, Banks County is finally getting used to being back in the win column.
The Leopards used an early 14-0 lead Friday night to defeat North Cobb Christian 24-8. The victory is the team’s third straight so far this year.
North Cobb earned a safety and scored on a 50-yard reception just before halftime, but Banks County held off the Eagles’ comeback to hand North Cobb Christian its third consecutive loss.
Trevae Cain scored two rushing touchdowns and gained 147 yards while Demetrius Walker added 74 yards on the ground.
Dezmon Steeple led the Leopards with 109 receiving yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Griffin Goodwin threw for 137 yards on the night.
Senior defensive back Malcolm Mitchell’s interception was yet another highlight on a successful night.
