Banks County ends drought, tops Johnson 28-24

Banks County earned its first victory since October 2012, beating Johnson 28-24 Friday in a back-and-forth game in Oakwood.

Trevae Cain led the Leopards with 71 yards and two scored on 16 carries and threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Mitchell. Mitchell finished with two catches for 72 yards and the score and ran a kickoff back 77 yards for a touchdown.

Demetrius Walker added 34 yards on 11 carries and 56 yards on three receptions for Banks County. Griffin Goodwin finished 6-of-13 with 88 yards and an interception in the game.

The Leopards move to 1-1 and play host to East Jackson next Friday in Homer. Johnson visits Lumpkin County next week in Dahlonega.
