Crowell claims City Golf Championship at Chattahoochee

Grant Crowell birdied the final hole Sunday to win the 2019 City Championship with a three-day total of even par (216), two shots clear of second-place finisher Will Peeples who was 2-over-par (218) at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.

Gainesville High girls golf coach Brad Prestridge (221) finished in third place, and four players (Jonathan Gaillard, Alex Morettini, Ricky Brown and Nathan Williams) tied for fourth at 6-over 222.

Sam Patterson (227) took the Championship B division title in front of Brody Simmons (231), Walter Hope (231) and Michael Gordy (232). 

Jeff Waggoner (205) won the overall net division, with a 54-hole total of 205 — 13 strokes under par.

Will Hicks (151) won the first flight ahead of John Yarger (155). Gene Weschler was the net winner (141).

John Payne (156) won the second flight, while Ed Waller (160) finished first in the third flight.

The 2019 City Senior Championship, for amateurs aged 50 and older, is scheduled for Aug. 24-25.
