Every year the Gainesville Times provides our users with an opportunity to help us name the Best of Hall County. Each year we receive thousands of nominations in the nearly 300 categories, covering everything from the best barber to the best barbecue. This list then stays visibile all year long as a guide to the best that Hall County has to offer. 

The list of the Best of Hall County is also printed as a magazine that can be used as a guide all year long. 

We use an open nominating process, meaning anyone can nominate their favorite business as a Best of Hall contender, and businesses who feel they stand out are also free to self-nominate. Nominations are open to any brick-and-mortar business physically located within Hall County. We do allow businesses that do the bulk of their work on mobile locations, such as cleaning services, construction or lawn care companies that have an office outside of Hall County to enter, provided they can demonstrate doing significant work in Hall County in the preceding year. 

Nominations are held during the month of October every year, followed by voting during the entire month of November. Winning businesses are notified in December, and the list is released to the public in January.
