Finally, the veneer of public service has been ripped from the body of self-service. As the inability of elected officials to put aside their own personal welfare to make decisions to positively impact our nation becomes evident, we must all bow our shoulders to accept the load that awaits us.
Unfortunately, while we will bear the burden for the rest of our lives, our children and grandchildren will tote the load even longer.
The problem has been brought about by both major political parties in that they have both failed to represent the character of their constituents. One has failed to witness the morality that is needed to embrace both conservative and capitalistic ideals. The other has forsaken the honorable pursuit (made possible by the wealth generated by free enterprise) of helping those in need, for a chance to occupy a place of honor in the hierarchy of the coming socialist utopia.
Brought to you, ladies and gentlemen, by our friend, Greed. Whether in the willingness to do anything to further the demise of the representative government to replace it with a "better system" actualized by a benevolent elite, or in an inability to do what you know is right because there's money to be made or power to be grasped, there's blame to be had by all.
In November 2010, voters made clear what they thought was needed, now we watch as the curtain is torn. We see you, please take a look in the mirror. You begin to look as if you think you no longer need us. Sometimes I wonder what our politicians' real agenda is.
Please, do what many of us do. Go to work and do your job. God help this country and all the people in it if we don't do what's right now. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. I'm afraid that in the pursuit of other things, many have become far removed from anything that would pass for wisdom.
