The Medical Staff and Northeast Georgia Medical Center made a very caring decision this holiday season. Rather than having a Christmas party for physicians, generous donations were given to both Health Access Initiative and Good News Clinics to serve those without health insurance.

These gifts were made in honor of the approximately 225 physicians who voluntarily provide care for low income, uninsured patients at Good News Clinics or through Health Access Initiative.

During the past year, many families have been impacted by loss of jobs and health insurance, making the need for health care services at Health Access Initiative and Good News Clinics greater than ever. The many physicians who volunteer their time and expertise to serve the uninsured make it possible for everyone in our community to have access to health care; few communities in our state can make this statement.

On behalf of the patients we serve, thank you to the Medical Staff and Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
