On behalf of Gainesville City Schools, we want to thank our community for the support and encouragement received as our football team advanced to the Class AAA state championship game. We appreciate the assistance of our business community in providing the programs and other services for the post-season games that we hosted at City Park.

A tremendous thanks is owed to our partners at Gainesville Park and Recreation for the extra time and work in providing a first-class, tradition-honored facility at Bobby Gruhn Field. To the Gainesville Athletic Club, thank you for keeping your focus on making this a special time for all of our students and supporting the team. We particularly appreciate the excellent media coverage of our local media outlets and the special print edition of The Times that was provided for every student at GHS.

Thank you to our Hall County high school neighbors who showed grace and class in offering us their good wishes and supporting us in the final game, especially to Flowery Branch High School.

Thank you to our band, cheerleaders, majorettes, mascots, parents, fans, Walt Snelling, our announcer, and our students for creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Our athletic department headed by Wayne Vickery managed four playoff games flawlessly and our high school staff worked additional hours to manage ticket sales. The staff and students of our other schools volunteered their time and talents to do the "extras" to make this time very special for our school system.

Most importantly, we thank Coach Bruce Miller, his fine coaching staff, and a remarkable group of young men who brought us together to celebrate what true champions are, and what Big Red will strive to continue to be.
