It is my hope that some new blood on the Lula City Council will bring an end to silly regulations like the one requiring a resident to pay a fee and to get the city’s approval in order to have a yard sale on his own property. I know that part of the fee is refundable if the yard-saler cleans up his property to an inspector’s satisfaction after the sale. This concern for the appearance of a resident’s property has a hollow ring to it in light of the many fruitless calls I made trying to get this same city government to do something about an abandoned property across the street from me.
