Other voices speak to raise the level of concern of growing gap between rich and poor. Times headlines (Feb. 9) report that “Pay gap not a hot topic in Hall area.” Local leaders polled that income inequality is not in the conversation, while some see a solution to the problem.

More information needed is offered by the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government website, with facts and figures to show that family income as well as SAT scores are in line with skin color. National Public Radio recent report tells how people tend to offer helping hand and job leads to their circle of family and friends and ignore those who may need it more.

We can all cross the color line and work together to end racism and support a diverse community.
