Your Views: Earth needs plants to clean the atmosphere

This is in reference to the ranting of the delusional Rick Frommer on Oct. 1. The letter was both hilarious and pathetic.

By his claiming that the “proliferation of plant life,” I assume he means plants produce carbon dioxide, which is, of course, the reverse of reality since plants utilize carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis to produce oxygen. They are the primary source of oxygen on earth but their contribution to cleaning up the atmosphere is being eliminated by their destruction from clearing of rainforests, forest fires, the constant spread of civilization and many other factors.

Even if plants did produce CO2, how could the failure to eat them lessen the output? Frommer’s lack of rational and seemly humorous solutions to global warming are absolutely ludicrous.
