Re: Reaction to the Jim Scharnagel letter that expressed his feelings concerning Muslims. The Times printed the letter May 13 and I observed two somewhat scathing responses since then condemning The Times for printing his opinion.

I share the discomfort that Jim's letter revealed, for some of the reasons expressed, and there are many U.S. citizens who agree. If good Muslims are offended, they need to influence and control the bad ones until we are convinced we can feel safer among them.

There is no comfort derived from knowing that there are others among us who demand that The Times print only what they agree with. How long have these people been asleep?
