Everyone should have to read John Stossel's editorial about spending printed in The Times on Monday. I mean everyone from our esteemed elected officials down to the everyday man, woman and child.

He cuts right to the heart of the economic woes and gives examples of common-sense solutions that will work. Canada and Puerto Rico had leaders with enough guts to take the bull by the horns, get their economies turned around and move in the right direction, and they succeeded.

Our government needs to be cut; trim down the payrolls, stop paying people not to work and cut out many more giveaways.

And speaking of giveaways, in the same edition of The Times there is a news item detailing the perks Gov. Nathan Deal and his wife received from Delta Air Lines after he signed the bill granting Delta a "partial" exemption from the fuel tax valued at $30 million. That's $30 million to a company already posting a healthy profit for the year. What a boost that would have been to our sagging economy. It certainly would have eased the minds of us who are facing cuts in emergency services and increases in taxes.

Now that I have vented my anger, I urge you to wake up, citizens, show your anger and raise your voices to stop all this wild spending and giving away and get our wonderful country back on solid ground and a sensible basis.
