Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has rewritten the long-standing definition of marriage, the same-sex population and their supporters are gleeful while the rest of us are being labeled “intolerant, insensitive and hateful” for clinging to our archaic Biblical beliefs. We’re told that “love won” because the nation’s highest court, comprised of nine unelected justices, voted 5-4 to undo (read: legislate from the bench) what had been a sacred union between a man and woman for thousands of years. If love truly won, why isn’t the same-sex community expressing compassion and understanding for people with opposing views?
