Having read Mike McConnell's letter condemning socialism in Venezuela, I thought it might be worth exploring some reasons why Venezuela is suffering. Venezuela currently has the world's largest proven crude oil reserves. It shouldn't be a surprise that Venezuela has been targeted by Western financial and corporate interests for destabilization to undermine the government and make it more compliant to western demands for access to its energy reserves and markets.
