Letter: A poem for my brother in blue

Dedicated to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office In memory of the officer lost Sunday night:

No I may not be an officer,

But I believe in rule of law.

I believe in “to serve and protect”,

And that’s why I believe in y’all.

It takes a special man or woman,

To do what you do.

So today we unite as Hall Countians,

To say goodbye to a brother in blue.

May your valor be remembered always,

May we honor your sacrifice.

As we live law abiding,

And see life through your eyes.

As taps plays on the bugle,

As flags are lowered in our hometown.

Today we gather as one,

To lay a brother in blue down.

May God bless his family,

And heal this department where he served.

Let them know they are appreciated,

And were saddened at what we’ve heard.

Today there’ll be a last call,

For a badge number I never knew.

And although I’ll never be an officer,

I still back my brother in blue.....
