Whatever happened to the little jingle on TV, “Don’t be a litterbug?” This week, as I came to town, I saw men picking up garbage alongside our road. When I came home, I noticed a truck picking up large filled bags of litter. Why do people do it?
My mom taught my sister and me not to throw trash down, to put it in a trash can. Even chewing gum should go in the wrapper and disposed of. A few days have passed now and once again, litter appears on the roadsides here. I am appalled. I know there is a fine for this if you get caught.
