In reference to a letter submitted to The Times from Mickey Montgomery in Dahlonega, it seems he is very unhappy with everything in our nation, especially our schools and public places. Two great institutions he failed to mention are the home and church. These are the places where respect and honor should be taught.
The church were I am a member First Baptist of Cornelia, is a partnership with our school Cornelia Elementary. Some of the things we provide are essential school supplies for the children and on occasion different types of appreciation for the faculty.
As far public places, I hear Dahlonega is beautiful, especially during the Christmas season. I invite you to drive through Cornelia City Park and view the array of displays through the New Year holiday.
Because of that “Silent Night” thousands of years ago, we can proclaim “Joy to the world, the Lord has Come!” It begins in the heart of each of us.
