Opinion: God’s truth vs. cultural delusions
2019 CROSS_003 header.jpg

An increasingly irreverent America is witnessing what happens when God’s truths are replaced with cultural delusions. Like an eroding beach, twisted beliefs start subtly, continue steadily and then, suddenly and swiftly, the damage is devastating:

Marriage: God ordained for a man and woman only to be united in holy matrimony (Genesis 2:24). Centuries of Biblical teaching were shattered shamelessly when the Supreme Court of the US (SCOTUS) sanctioned same-sex “marriage” in 2015. It’s an abomination to traditional marriage and the nuclear family.

Abortion: God created humankind in His own image (Genesis 1:26) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis1:28). Instead, 63 million defenseless babies have been butchered in the womb and deprived of their right to life due to abortion-on-demand. Mercifully, SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade after 49 years. The horror of abortion, masquerading as “women’s healthcare” and “reproductive rights,” has stained our country and saddened our Creator.

Gender: God formed male and female only (Genesis 1:27) to honor Him with their bodies (I Corinthians 6:20). Alas, Biblical truth has been sacrificed on the altar of debauchery. Gallup polling indicates 7.1% of the American population identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer, which sounds high.

But despite this minority, LGBTQ activists pervasively push their atypical lifestyles upon the 92.9% who don’t gloat about their heterosexuality. Conversely, the LGBTQ community is obsessed with sexual orientation and “coming out.” They flaunt their gender identification nonsense in the public square through appalling actions.

Transgender books are in school libraries. First-graders are taught to question their birth gender. There are “preferred pronouns” and don’t dare “misgender” someone. “Gender-neutral” bathrooms are available. School kids are subjected to drag queen shows. Boys become “girls” who compete unfairly against females in sports. This ridiculous indoctrination confuses children, causes anxiety among parents and creates a more degenerate America.

Stop tolerating such depravity and speak the inconvenient truth. Opponents will call us judgmental, hypocritical, intolerant, insensitive, homophobic, bi-phobic, transphobic and worse. Don’t be intimidated by their insults. The majority must say enough is enough. Instead of surrendering to these cultural delusions, let’s be courageous knowing that God’s truths will triumph.
