Again, U.S. Rep. Doug Collins of Gainesville has brought shame and dishonor to the people of this district.
In this instance, he has stood up in the House of Representatives and defended Donald Trump's racist comments.
Trump's claim that he does not have a “racist bone in his body” is the material that keeps late night comedians employed. To tell someone of color to “go back where you came from” as Trump has done is as racist as using the n-word.
This is particularly true when this epithet is directed at four women who are not as white as he is but are American citizens nevertheless.
If Collins wanted to represent the people of Gainesville that are not racists, and I think most of us are not, then he would have followed the example of Sens. Johnny Isakson or Mitt Romney and kept his mouth shut. Then we would know where he stands.
