Ron Martz: Our freedoms in peril from presidential trio
These contenders could threaten some of our cherished Bill of Rights liberties

One thing that has become increasingly clear in this increasingly muddled 2016 presidential campaign is that if either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump — and you can throw Bernie Sanders into that mix — actually take out a mortgage on the White House for the next four years civil liberties will be on life support. The First, Second and Fourth Amendment rights that the framers of the Constitution envisioned as a means to ensure that citizens are guaranteed protections from an over-reaching government are at dire risk if any of those three become president. Clinton has repeatedly demonstrated her antipathy toward the Second Amendment, as has Sanders, although both tend to leaven their messages when campaigning in states where hunting and gun ownership is higher.
