Georgia’s so-called “Campus Carry” bill is a potential disaster in the making. I write that as a former Marine, a gun owner, a member of the National Rifle Association, strong supporter of the Second Amendment and holder of a concealed weapon permit who believes it is every person’s right to defend themselves and their families with whatever legal means at their disposal. I also write it as a former educator who has stood in front of a classroom of 40-plus university students, some of whom were terribly unhappy with their grades, or sat across the desk from some overly emotional students not sure where to turn or at whom to lash out because of boyfriend/girlfriend/parents/grade issues.
